The Roman Catholic Parish of Poringland & Loddon
The local Roman Catholic Church in Poringland and Framingham Earl is based at the Chapel of Our Lady of the Annunciation at the White House, Upgate. The parish covers a large area of South Norfolk; induding Loddon, where we share in a Local Ecumenical Project withthe Anglican and Methodist communities, and where Mass is celebrated in St Johns, Methodists Church, George Lane, Loddon.Catholics have worshipped in Poringland and Loddon since the 1940s and coupled with the needs of an ever growing local community Mass is now celebrated every morning at 8.00am in Poringland, at 6.00pm on Saturdays (Vigil for Sunday) and at 9.00am on Sundays in Poringland and at 11.00am in Loddon. During the 9.00am Mass we provide a special Liturgy for children at which they celebrate the Gospel message of the day. Our mission is: To proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ through catholic Worship; outreach to local, national and international charities; fundraising and community building through social events; service within the local community and working together with the other local Christian Churches. Most of the activities of the above churches, together with much useful local information, are also published in 'Contact' the parish magazine that is available by subscription.
