Thanksgiving for the good weather anticipated this week for the Holiday Club and thanksgiving for the maximum numbers of children who have registered; for them to be able to attend and enjoy the fun and come to experience and know God’s love in their lives; for all the volunteers to come together and work together as a team; for Julian as he leads the holiday club team each morning in Bible study and prayer; for Andy, Rachel and Ollie in the drama group; for Dianne and her team in the craft activity; thanksgiving for all the volunteers, and especially for the young people; for Mima, Pheobe, Amy, Steven, Jennifer and Josh as they share the lead in worship at the holiday club; for Rachel, Kathryn and Janet as they also share the lead in worship; for David as he plays the welcome music; for many parents and family members to sign up to attend the finale celebration and sausage sizzle on Friday, and for open hearts to receive the gospel.
Tuesday 27th July
For Christians living in Iran, especially for believers such as Pastor Youcef Nadarkhani, Fatemeh Kojouri Tork, Behrouz Sadegh Khanjani and Pastor Behnam who are in prison because of their faith; for God to strengthen them physically, emotionally and spiritually, so that they will be a ‘light in the darkness’; thanksgiving that despite the horrendous circumstances for Christians in Iran and the opposition they face from the government, the church is nevertheless growing; for the house church movement, which is responsible for much of the growth of the church; for God to protect its leaders and give them wisdom and understanding.
Wednesday 28th July
For continuing protection and wisdom for Canon Andrew White, the vicar of Baghdad, as he works amongst Christians, Muslims and Jews to bring reconciliation and relief and share the good news of the Gospel.
Thursday 29th July
For Dora to be able to die in peace, and at peace, with God. For Barbara who has been diagnosed with liver and lung cancer and is facing daily chemo,
Friday 30th July
For all those attracted to and/or involved with mediums / clairvoyants / spiritualists - that they will be given the strength to break free; that they will be convicted of their sins; and that they will discover true peace with God through Jesus Christ - the one whose burden is light and whose yoke is easy
Saturday 31st July
Thanksgiving for the work of CROSSLINKS in supporting mission and evangelism both here in the UK and overseas. For people and families travelling on day-breaks and holidays to be kept safe; and during the summer refreshment and relaxation times for many people to have the time to consider the claims of God on their lives; for young Christians (especially) who are especially feeling the pressures to have casual relationships and casual sexual relationships - to be able to bear these pressures and at the same time to have joy and freedom until they are ready for marriage.
